Pe aceasta cale, semnatarii petitiei cer atat Parlamentului European, cat si Parlamentului Romaniei acordarea de drepturi egale minoritatilor sexuale din Romania (Lesbiene, Gay, Bisexuali, Transgender). Ne referim aici la drepturi civile, in principiu.
Un prim pas pentru realizarea acestui deziderat ar fi adoptarea unei rezolutii care sa afirme vointa Romaniei si a Uniunii Europene de a pune capat inegalitatilor din societatea romaneasca, cu care se confrunta comunitatea gay.
Consideram ca Statul roman practica o discriminare institutionalizata fata de gay, deoarece le violeaza acestora dreptul constitutional la viata de familie si viata privata negandu-le calitatea de cetateni cu drepturi depline ai Romaniei, excluzandu-i si transformandu-i astfel in "cetateni de mana a doua". Acest lucru este inacceptabil, intr-o tara membra a unei organizatii care ar trebui sa puna pret pe diversitate!
Dupa cum se stie, homosexualitatea nu mai este considerata o boala mintala inca din anii '60. Nu este corect (sau moral) sa interzici drepturi egale unei anumite categorii de cetateni, bazandu-te pe Biblie. O societate democratica, cum este si Romania, se conduce avand la baza Constitutia, nu Biblia.
Credem, de asemenea, ca Statul trebuie sa incurajeze cuplurile gay mature si responsabile, care au la baza consimtamantul ambelor parti , sa isi manifeste sentimentele in mod liber si sa ii protejeze ori de cate ori acest drept fundamental le este lezat.
Dupa cate s-a vazut in statele Uniunii Europene, una dintre solutiile pentru o mai buna integrare in societate a minoritatilor sexuale o constituie parteneriatul civil. Dorim sa atragem atentia asupra imenselor presiuni sociale la care este supus un cuplu gay si sa propunem un posibil factor care sa contribuie la eliberarea tensiunilor: Parteneriatul Civil. Mentionam ca parteneriatul civil este o institutie utila nu doar homosexualilor, ci si heterosexualilor.
Nu este corect ca o societate sa singularizeze o intreaga categorie de cetateni pe baza unei simple caracteristici, cum ar fi comportamentul sexual, si sa ii izoleze din punct de vedere legislativ, acest fapt contravenind flagrant cu principiile democratiei.
Speram ca Uniunea Europeana va ajuta Statul roman sa puna capat unei nedreptati istorice ! Cerem PARTENERIATE GAY PENTRU LUCA SI MATEI, dar si pentru orice alt cetatean al Romaniei.
2. English
Through this petition, the Undersigned request to the European Parliament but also to the Romanian Parliament, the granting of equal rights to sexual minorities in Romania (Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transsexuals). We make reference to civil rights.
A first step in accomplishing this goal would be the passing of a resolution which should affirm Romania and the European Union's will of ending inequalities in Romanian society, faced by the gay community.
We believe that the Romanian State is practicing institutionalized discrimination with regards to gay people, because it violates them the constitutional rights of family life and private life, denying them the quality of Romanian citizens, with equal rights, thus excluding them and turning them in "second- class citizens". This is unacceptable, in a Member State that is supposed to prize diversity!
It is generally accepted that homosexuality is not considered a mental illness as of the 60's. It is not right, (or moral) to deny equal rights to a certain category of citizens, basing that decision on the Bible. A democratic society, like Romania, is run not according to Biblical principles, but according to Constitutional principles.
We also believe that the state should encourage mature, responsible gay couples formed of consenting same sex adults to express their feelings freely, and to protect them anytime this fundamental right is breeched.
As we have seen in other EU Member States, one of the solutions for a better integration of sexual minorities in society is constituted by Civil Partnership. We wish to draw your attention to the immense social pressures that a gay couple is subjected to, and to propose a possible factor which could contribute to easing the tensions: CIVIL PARTNERSHIP. We would like to mention that Civil Partnership is an institution that will benefit both gay AND heterosexual couples in Romania.
It is not just for a society to singularize a whole category of citizens on the basis of a sole characteristic, like sexual behavior, and to isolate them, from a legislative point of view, this fact being contradictory to the core principles of democracy.
We hope that the European Union will aid the Romanian State to end a historic injustice! We request CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS FOR ADAM AND STEVE, but also for any Romanian citizen!
